Sir James McNeill Scholarship at Monash University in Australia 2022

The Sir James McNeill Scholarship (SJMN) program provides funding support for both Master’s and PhD study programs at Monash University. This program is organized by a private trust, and It was created in memory of the late Sir James McNeill, who attained an extensive and deep association with Monash University.

Sir James McNeill Scholarship is entirely sponsored for individuals who become recipients of this award. The program covers Master’s and Ph.D. research programs only. As a recipient, your annual living stipend is $36,200, relocation stipend is $550, and your annual research stipend is $1,500. This funding is available for research that is both environmentally useful and socially beneficial, and also helps assist a recipients with living fees during their studying at Monash University.

Monash University is an academic institution situated in Melbourne, Australia. The school has numerous campuses, four (4) of which are located in Victoria (Clayton, Caulfield, Peninsula, and Parkville), and another in Malaysia. Monash University also has a research and learning center in Prato, Italy, a graduate research school in Mumbai, India, and a graduate school in Suzhou, China. Sir James McNeill Scholarship – Eligibility

To be eligible for Sir James McNeill Scholarship, students must satisfy the following prerequisites:

  • Required Language: English language.
    • English Language Test prerequisites for General: (6.5) overall (no band less than 6.0) in IELTS, and (79 +) Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18 & Writing 21 in TOEFL.
    • English Language Test prerequisites for Arts, Business and Economics: (7) overall (no band less than 6.5) in IELTS, and (94 +) Reading 19, Listening 20, Speaking 20 & Writing 24 TOEFL.
  • Eligible Applicants:
    • An International student.
    • Citizen of New Zealand .
    • Citizen of Australia.
    • Permanent resident of Australia.
    • Humanitarian visa holder in Australia.
  • Go through the prerequisites for admission to research master’s according to field of study here.
  • You should hold qualifications which in the interest of GRC are considered equivalent.
  • Sponsorships are awarded based on applicant’s academic history, research output and past research experience.
  • You have not held an Australian Government or Monash-funded Postgraduate Research Award for over six months.
  • You must have submitted a scholarship application in the present year.
  • You should be embarking on research that is both environmentally advantageous and socially beneficial.

Sir James McNeill Scholarship – How to Apply

To apply for Sir James McNeill Scholarship, ensure you follow the following application steps:

  1. You have to get an invitation to apply, before you do so. To invite, you will have to express an expression of interest and/or find a supervisor who wants to supervise your research. This is dependent on the faculty/institute.
  2. Register for Graduate Research Admission and Scholarship, by tapping “Apply Now“ on the official website.

  4. Mention that you wish to be selected for a scholarship award on the application form. There will be no necessity to get a different application form.

Interested persons do not need to state which scholarship they are applying for as they are automatically qualified for all graduate research scholarships (where eligible).
