A man has been arrested for allegedly pouring kerosene over a woman and setting her on fire for turning down his advances.
The 35-year-old woman was taken to hospital but succumbed to her injuries while she was being treated for her burns.
She was set alight on Friday morning and died later that day in Chepabarod Town in Baran, the Times of India reports.
Rambharan Yadav, a 31-year-old labourer, from Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested at Kawai railway station on Sunday for allegedly setting the woman on fire, police said.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Reena Koli and police said they were both tenants in the same building.
Yadav allegedly called Reena – who is married – to his room on Friday morning and tried to rape her.
